Mr. O:
Here's what it breaks down to: do you (a) already love the Black Keys or (b) just love that funky blues sound? If you answered yes to either of those then keep reading. The new Black Keys album is exactly what you should expect from them--an extremely well produced, soulful album with one strong song after another. But hey I happen to love the Black Keys. While I miss Danger Mouses production from Attack & Release here a bit this is still a solid album (and DM is present in "Tighten Up") so give her a whirl.

Mr. O: Janelle Monae's new album based off of the 1927 German silent Film "Metropolis" is a  psychedelic romp through some crazy psuedo-futuristic world. I love Monae and while the album doesn't quite live up to my expectations (lead single tightrope had me ridiculously excited) it is a great album.  Album standouts for me are "Tightrope" (check out our song review sections for the super funky music video), "Cold War", and "Oh, Maker".

Wizard Staff:
Just got this album. I am about to put it in the ipod, so I haven't had time to write a review. I know you want it badly so here ya go. Review to follow soon.

Woodshed:  Weak sauce.  Another album that had the platform and the pull to be huge.  Fail.  Most of the songs are like 6 - 7 minutes long and redundant as piss.  There are a few decent head nodders on here but for the most part I'm turning my nose up on this album.  Sorry LCD, you and MGMT can release your redeeming albums any time now, we're waiting.  Rating: 6/10

Mr. O: I hate to disagree with you Woodshed, but I'm digging this quite a bit. The first listen through was a little slow for me, but like Sound of Silver this is an album that is going to grow and grow on me. I'm two times through the album and I think its pretty great. I love long songs so that doesn't bother me, and the beats and vocals on this are kind of hypnotic, so before I knew it it was over. Oh yeah and "Dance Yrself Clean" is my new jam. Rating: 8/10

Mr. O: Not sure if I'd go as far as classic.... but I'll definitely approve. Very solid, clean pop music. And how can you not  love something that spawned this or this slightly less cool (?)  definitely waaaaaaaay  more hipster-friendly version Rating: 8/10
